There's an abundance of fantastic apps available, prompting me to allocate an entire page solely for them. Discovering apps that assist me in positive endeavors brings me immense joy. At one point, my husband and I shared an Apple account, leading to his frustration as every app I installed on my phone also appeared on his.
I humorously reassured him that I was subtly nudging him towards goodness! :)
Be My Eyes is a free app that connects blind and low-vision people with sighted volunteers and company representatives for visual assistance through a live video call.
The Buy Nothing Project was founded in 2013 with the mission to build community by connecting people through hyperlocal gifting, and reducing our impact on the environment. Our mission has not changed. In fact, we've doubled down by investing in our own platform that will allow us (collectively) to realize this mission to its fullest.
OLIO is all about connecting neighbors to share more, and waste less. It's similar to the NextDoor app as you can list things that you want to give away for free but this one has the "food" option as well that I think is super creative.
Debris Tracker is designed to help citizen scientists like you make a difference by contributing data on plastic pollution in your community. We've been tracking litter since before smartphones existed, and we're still driven by uniting technology and citizen science to fight plastic pollution.
ThinkDirty - I love this app. You can go into a store and scan the barcode to see what's in the product and then you can shop for cleaner options.
Watty - Android only - Have you ever wanted to know what appliances are on or off in your house to help yourself save cost of energy? I have.....this app will show you your energy consumption at home and tell you what you need to turn off in real time.
